Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, the young Nora started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. When she was in high the school, she focused on journalism and woman's studies. She was also a student of Mandarin briefly in Beijing. The focus on music until after she graduated. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The latter song was linked directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. After a successful career as a musician and songwriter, she took on the role of actor. Aside from early TV programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got several notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her EP "In Fina We Trust".
